| Artists Scheduled for July 8th include: Kathy Gross of Waynesville Ohio who does detailed pen and ink drawings of homes or historic buildings. She also has limited edition prints she has done of some of Ohio's universities. Marcy Elter of Lebanon has written a book that is an Appalachian story of mixed geneologies and historical fiction centered at Fort Ancient. She will be here doing book signings. Brenda Kenyon of Fairfield Ohio will be appearing in costume to demonstrate the Appachian art of quilting. She will be bringing a quilt in progress to demonstrate hand quilting and will also show samples of different blocks. Marsha Rood and Penelope Pate will also be appearing in costume and they will be bringing their spinning wheels to spin their wools and tales of how things used to be. Penelope Pate is a retired teacher who portrays Patience Yardley for the 1800's Penelope is very authentic and has given demonstrations at the Loveland Museum and has worked at the Heritage Museum at Sharonwoods. She is a knitter, spinner and weaver. Marsha Rood, an Intervention Specialist, has portrayed Catherine Snow at farm shows, Loveland Museum, Sharonwoods, Waynesville and classrooms. Catherine is Marsha's grandmother who came from Ireland in the late 1800's. She will do a reel, jog and sometimes play the tin whistle. She also will knit, spin and weave. Marsha raises Irish Connemara and Border Collies to herd her Lincoln Longwool sheep. Dale Bastin of New Carlisle Ohio is a blacksmith who will be displaying his metal works including cowboy characters made from hand forged nails and larger versions of them for use as yard art. He also makes floral lilies on driftwood. Jack Earley of Loveland Ohio who does acrylic landscapes and abstracts. Jack is also well-known throughout the Southwest for his sumi-e ink portraits of Native Americans. Cassandra Graham who makes unique one of a kind jewelry will be the featured artist inside the Framing Place during July's event. Cassie will be working on a decorative rocking chair as part of Waynesville's Rocking Chair Extravaganza as well as exhibiting her beautiful jewelry. Naomi Simpson-Beck of Waynesville will be doing Pysanky (Ukrainian Egg Decorating) Pysanky (pronounced pee-sank-e) is the traditional Eastern European art of egg decorating. It has been practiced for 3,000 years, and is steeped in culture, religion and mysticism. Each symbol, line and color used in the design has a meaning. Joan Rutan of J R Design will be at the July Stroll featuring artisan crafted jewelry using sterling silver and gold filled precious metals, precious gemstones, cultured fresh water pearls, Swarovski and Czech crystal beads and vintage beads and buttons. Teina Tallarigo found a love for nature as well an energy which has inspired her to capture it on canvas. She observed layers, colors, transparencies and textured elements which she brings into her art of oil paintings, and mixed media and graphic design. Jan Polk, painter of the Great American Flower Collection, (GAFC) tm, will be plein air painting during the July stroll. Jan uses only a pallet knife for her impressionist style landscape oil paintings when on location. GAFC images remind you to treat yourself with respect and to treat others with respect. From Jan's website you can view a wide range of her works. Jud Yalkut of Waynesville, an internationally known film/video maker, who has been exhibiting both collage and watercolor work for some time. His collages have an extremely detailed fusion of picture elements to create unified images that partake of the Surrealist sensibility. His watercolors are usually all executed plein air, on site, and focus on flowers and natural environments, as well as occasional memoirs of travel sites. Sharen Eninger of Fish House Art Gallery will be conducting the children's activites at 188 North Main Street and also working on a sculpture piece. In addition to sculpture, Sharen also does woodcut printmaking, painting and fiber art working with mixed media. Sarah Lord designs and makes artist jewelry that features semi-precious stone pendants. Each necklace has a matching set of earrings and a description card giving information on the stone's holistic properties. Several other Waynesville area artists will be participating. As permissions are secured, other artists will be mentioned by name. |

| August's Second Sunday Stroll will be August 12th and will feature a photography contest. Photos must be taken in Waynesville's historic district between now and Aug. 12th. First prize will be $100, 2nd and 3rd prizes are $50 each. Ten dollar entry fee to submit photos. Entry form will be available on the website by July 1st. Photography Contest Details |

| Entertainers scheduled for July 8th "Daluni", Richard Jones, of Clownflower Alley will be here from 2pm-5pm with his balloon creations (gratuities appreciated) The Miami Valley Dance Academy will be performing Sunday afternoon at 3pm at the LCNB parking lot at the corner of Main St and North St . The Dedication Band, Patty Frazee leader, will be playing early American and Celtic music from 2-3:30 pm. Instruments include hammered dulcimer, lap dulcimer, fiddle, bohran (drum), penny whistle, guitar and concertina. They will be joined by the Dulcimer Friends of Caesars Creek. Rick Street will be performing from 3:30 till 5 pm. Rick's genre includes folk, rock, and jazz. |
